About the position

The Associate Director of Sales at the Westin Dallas Stonebriar Golf Resort & Spa is responsible for driving total room, banquet, catering, and room rental revenue. This role involves developing and implementing yield strategies, ensuring market performance, and meeting budget and forecast targets. The position requires effective communication and leadership to manage the sales team, develop business from various markets, and create persuasive sales presentations to secure bookings for the hotel.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the solicitation efforts of the sales staff through effective oral and written communication while overseeing rate, date and space commitments for group room sales within the hotel.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, train, and evaluate performance of sales staff, providing guidance and resolving issues as necessary.
  • Ensure regular training programs are conducted and HEI standards of performance are met.
  • Compile and direct the preparation of reports related to the Sales Department's operations, including forecasts and sales meeting minutes.
  • Conduct ongoing research of the travel industry to identify market trends and develop new marketing strategies.
  • Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients.
  • Prepare and execute the annual business plan, adjusting as necessary based on market conditions.
  • Organize and attend scheduled sales department and executive committee meetings.
  • Manage all group, transient, and catering/banquet sales activities to maximize hotel revenue.
  • Prepare and implement strategic sales plans, monthly reports, and sales budgets.
  • Develop rates and sales strategies through competitive data analysis and demand management.
  • Represent the hotel professionally in community and industry events.
  • Oversee departmental compliance with employment and civil rights laws.
  • Maintain regular attendance and availability to work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of sales leadership experience in a similar-sized operation preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi.
  • Knowledge of computer accounting programs and budgetary analysis capabilities required.
  • Extensive knowledge of sales skills, revenue management, and training of managers.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and perform diplomacy with customers and staff.
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the hotel property and perform essential job functions.
