About the position

The Associate Director of Shared Accounting Services at the Archdiocese of Milwaukee is responsible for managing the Shared Accounting Services (SAS) Center, ensuring financial compliance, and overseeing the accounting operations for client parishes. This role involves program coordination, application of Archdiocesan protocols, and the development of accounting systems and processes to support the financial goals of the parishes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the accounting operations of shared accounting services, including transaction processing, general ledger, and monthly financial reports.
• Ensure that all accounting policies and procedures are followed.
• Develop and implement accounting systems and processes.
• Attend Parish Finance Council meetings twice yearly and as needed.
• Manage and develop a team of accounting professionals.
• Collaborate with parish staff to ensure that financial goals are met.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
• CPA preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in nonprofit accounting required.
• Public accounting experience preferred.
• Active practicing Catholic required.
• In-depth knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Office 365, accounting software, and database programs).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage and develop a team of accounting professionals.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders.
