The Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion, or the Center as known on campus, represents the importance of equity and inclusive excellence in every aspect of the Carnegie Mellon student experience. We are a team-oriented unit, with dual reporting lines to the Division of Student Affairs and the Vice Provost for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion & Inaugural Chief Diversity Officer. The Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion enhances the student experience by cultivating cultural engagement, fostering a sense of belonging, and challenging systems of privilege and oppression. We work to support the success of socially marginalized student populations by developing inclusive communities, facilitating active mentorship, and building personal empowerment. These outcomes are accomplished by collaboration with students, staff, faculty, and alumni. Our goal is to develop creative and engaging programmatic experiences, on and off campus that increase intercultural competency and promote inclusivity.
