About the position

The Associate Director of the Blinn College Foundation plays a crucial role in advancing the college's mission through effective fundraising strategies. This position involves building and maintaining relationships with donors, managing fundraising initiatives, and ensuring the financial sustainability of the college through various giving programs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in fundraising through individuals, corporations, planned giving, annual appeals, scholarships, and capital development.
  • Work closely with the Director, Foundation Board, and District Chancellor on fundraising initiatives.
  • Conduct prospect research, solicitation, and donor stewardship.
  • Manage a portfolio of gift-level prospects through the entire development cycle.
  • Implement a thorough donor acknowledgment and stewardship system, maintaining consistent contact with major donors.
  • Collaborate with the Director to manage the solicitation process, including recommending proposal ask amounts and monitoring the committee.
  • Undertake special assignments on behalf of the Director and Foundation as requested.
  • Develop fundraising initiatives for the Alumni & Friends Association and Alumni Lettermen events.
  • Oversee and operate the accounting software Funddriver.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum 4-6 years experience in major donor and gift solicitation, or an equivalent combination of related experience.
  • Fundraising experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree.
  • Working knowledge of capital campaigns, planned giving, annual giving, and alumni functions.
  • Experience working with colleges or universities or equivalent non-profit experience.
  • Knowledge of the Blinn College district-wide counties, specializing in Brazos County.
  • Proven ability to cultivate, solicit, and steward major gifts.
  • Experience in a higher education environment, having participated in a comprehensive campaign.
  • Experience with Raiser's Edge and financial software.
  • Knowledge of planned giving techniques.
