About the position

The Associate Director of Total Rewards and Human Resources Operations at Clark University is responsible for shaping and implementing the university's total rewards strategy, which includes compensation, performance management, employee success, benefits, and wellness programs. This role involves leading the development of innovative wellness programs, managing benefits offerings, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The position also serves as a key HR partner for various departments, providing support in employee relations and performance management while maintaining accurate employee records.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and management of innovative wellness programs that promote employee health and happiness.
  • Elevate benefits programs to ensure they are competitive, comprehensive, and compliant with regulations.
  • Conduct in-depth benchmarking and market analysis for benefits offerings.
  • Drive the compensation strategy to ensure fair, competitive, and performance-driven pay practices.
  • Conduct regular salary surveys and provide strategic compensation advice to leadership.
  • Lead the implementation of the university's compensation and classification system.
  • Develop a merit-based performance management infrastructure and oversee its execution.
  • Serve as the go-to HR partner for assigned departments, providing support in employee relations and performance management.
  • Administer HR policies and procedures, ensuring consistent application.
  • Conduct exit interviews and use feedback for continuous improvement in HR practices.
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives to enhance workplace and employee experience.
  • Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS and other systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of HR experience, focusing on benefits administration, compensation, and wellness programs.
  • Proven experience as an HR generalist with knowledge of employee relations, performance management, and talent development.
  • Strong operational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a practical approach to HR challenges.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships at all levels.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and relevant software applications.
  • HR certification (PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Banner HR desired; not necessary.
  • Experience with Interview Exchange / Hirezon desired, not necessary.
