About the position

The Associate Director - Pharma Distribution and Logistics at Bayer is responsible for managing third-party distribution and transportation operations for Pharma U.S. operations. This role involves overseeing inbound and outbound logistics processes, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and optimizing supply chain operations to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency. The position requires strong leadership in budget management, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics framework.

Responsibilities

  • Manage third-party logistics (3PL) operations and ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulations.
  • Develop and oversee the operational budget, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) for cost reduction and service improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements in logistics operations.
  • Coordinate inventory management processes, including receipts, cycle counting, and adjustments.
  • Build and maintain relationships with 3PL providers and internal stakeholders for effective communication and collaboration.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements related to pharmaceutical distribution, including DSCSA and serialization systems.
  • Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics to inform strategic decisions and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Continuously assess and optimize the transportation network and conduct risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of supply chain, logistics, and/or manufacturing experience.
  • Strong digital mindset with knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), SAP, and ERP systems.
  • Experience in inventory management practices, including auditing and cycle counting.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • Strong business acumen and financial knowledge.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or supply chain management discipline.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Knowledge of pharma DSCSA requirements, including serialization track and trace systems.
