About the position
The Associate Director of Pharmacy Retail at Banner Health is responsible for leading and overseeing the operational activities of Retail Pharmacy Services. This role involves managing daily operations, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and enhancing patient care through effective pharmacy practices. The position requires a hands-on approach, including working as a bench pharmacist, and emphasizes team development, customer service, and engagement within the pharmacy environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the operational activities of Retail Pharmacy Services.
- Organize and coordinate daily activities of the Retail Pharmacy.
- Monitor drug therapy for appropriateness and intervene as necessary.
- Participate in the planning and evaluation of Pharmacy information systems.
- Provide leadership and direction to the retail pharmacy staff.
- Schedule and supervise retail department employees and participate in personnel actions.
- Develop and implement procedures to promote efficiency in department operations.
- Perform day-to-day duties of a Staff Pharmacist, including immunization administration.
Requirements
- Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
- Current pharmacy licensure in the state of practice within 90 days of hire.
- Immunization certification and/or licensure required within 6 months of hire.
- Current BLS card.
- Good organizational, problem-solving, and computer skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- 3 years of experience in a retail pharmacy or similar setting.
- 1 year of supervisory experience.
- Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
