About the position

The Associate Director - Product Research and Development Tech Lead at Lilly is a senior-level role responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of product development within the Lilly Research Laboratories (LRL). This position involves engaging with a team of professionals to implement projects across the Product Research and Development (PRD) portfolio, ensuring adherence to design standards and best practices. The role requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing requirements in a complex scientific environment, while also mentoring and coaching other developers.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with a team of professionals on multiple engagements and implementation projects across the PRD portfolio.
  • Partner closely with the area architect to ensure adherence to design decisions and Lilly standards.
  • Act as a technical accelerator, solving complex problems across development teams.
  • Provide a comprehensive view of the PRD tech landscape, offering improvements and identifying risks.
  • Mentor and coach other developers within the area.
  • Drive DevOps best practices within PRD.
  • Collaborate within PRD product teams to resolve technical blockers and provide guidance.
  • Ensure systems and data security and privacy by working with security experts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT or equivalent field.
  • 8+ years of experience in DevOps and full-stack development.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong understanding of Cloud Systems and DevOps best practices.
  • Experience with architecture and system design in a cloud environment.
  • Experience with large-scale databases and analytics tools (e.g., AWS Aurora, Redshift, DynamoDB, S3, Microsoft PowerBI).
  • Experience with AWS technologies such as Lambda and GLUE.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python and JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of ITIL v4 processes and tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
  • Strong knowledge of agile practices and tools (e.g., Jira).
