About the position

The Associate Director, Professional Services is a field-based leadership role responsible for managing a team of Professional Services Veterinarians in the Northern Zone. This position focuses on building strong customer relationships, providing medical education, and supporting the companion animal business. The Associate Director collaborates with peer leaders to ensure excellence in veterinary support and leverages financial acumen to enhance customer insights and team training. The role also involves maintaining industry connections and representing the company at scientific meetings and customer consultations.

Responsibilities

• Hire, onboard, lead, coach, and motivate field veterinary staff of the Companion Animal Business Unit.
• Build strong customer relationships and advance the company's offerings through medical education and needs discovery.
• Provide professional development by partnering with direct reports on individual development plans.
• Oversee and manage expense and travel budgets for direct reports.
• Deliver a high level of technical expertise, service, and support for the Companion Animal sales in the US.
• Communicate technical features, benefits, and methods of pharmaceuticals to customers.
• Participate as a scientific speaker at industry and local meetings.
• Conduct and assist in market support research to gather customer needs.
• Aid in the development of technical and marketing brochures for the company's products.
• Act as a liaison between researchers and the company to supply information on innovative products.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M) degree.
• Minimum of 8 years relevant work experience in clinical veterinary experience or companion animal technical services.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Good leadership skills and people management experience preferred.
• Current Veterinary license in a US state.
• Ability to digest technical information and present it understandably.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in veterinary sales or marketing.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies.
• Experience in public speaking at industry events.
