About the position
The Associate Director of Quality Assurance at Merck Sharp & Dohme is responsible for overseeing quality assurance functions within the manufacturing operations. This role involves ensuring compliance with quality standards, managing a team of quality assurance professionals, and collaborating with various departments to maintain product integrity and safety. The position emphasizes a commitment to continuous improvement and teamwork, with a focus on regulatory compliance and effective communication across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Oversee quality assurance functions for plant-wide systems and processes.
- Conduct batch record review and release, bulk and component review and release, and defect resolution.
- Ensure proper implementation and documentation of audits, regulatory document reviews, and SOPs.
- Control and approve the final release of finished goods from the site.
- Provide final approval of packaging investigations and release decisions for materials.
- Interview, hire, and train personnel, and recommend salary actions for employees.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree, preferably in Science or Engineering.
- A minimum of six (6) years of pharmaceutical industry experience, preferably in Quality.
- Ability to provide technical direction and training in Good Manufacturing Practice and safety practices.
- Expertise in the Quality Assurance discipline and ability to improve products and processes.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Thorough knowledge of plant-wide systems/processes.
- At least two (2) years of supervisory experience.
