About the position

The Associate Director, Research Finance at Bristol Myers Squibb plays a crucial role in managing financial goals within the Research organization. This position serves as the primary financial contact for actual results, budgets, forecasts, resource allocation, and performance analysis. The role involves regular interaction with senior Research leaders and participation in leadership teams, overseeing approximately $1.5 billion in annual research expenses across diverse therapeutic areas and stages of drug development.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with key leaders and operations teams to manage financial goals within the BMS Research organization.
• Serve as the first point of contact for actual results, budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation.
• Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and assess drivers of performance.
• Interact regularly with senior Research leaders, including SVP and their leadership teams.
• Manage financial aspects of diverse units within the Research organization, covering drug discovery, pre-clinical, and clinical stages.

Requirements

• Proven experience in financial management and analysis, preferably in a research or pharmaceutical environment.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
