About the position

The Associate Director, Research Finance at Bristol Myers Squibb plays a crucial role in managing financial goals within the BMS Research organization. This position serves as the primary finance contact for actual results, budgets, forecasts, resource allocation, and performance analysis, collaborating closely with senior research leaders and operations teams. The role is integral to overseeing a significant budget of $1.5 billion in research expenses, contributing to diverse activities across drug discovery, pre-clinical, and clinical stages.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with key leaders and operations teams to manage financial goals within the BMS Research organization.
• Serve as the first point of contact for actual results, budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation.
• Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and identify drivers of performance.
• Interact regularly with senior research leaders and participate in their respective divisions' Leadership Teams.
• Manage financial aspects of diverse units within the research organization.

Requirements

• Experience in financial management within a research or pharmaceutical environment.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to conduct financial analysis.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with senior leadership.
• Proven ability to manage large budgets and financial forecasting.
