About the position

The Associate Director role at Bristol Myers Squibb involves collaboration with key leaders and operations teams within the Research organization to manage financial goals. This position serves as the primary finance contact for actual results, budgets, forecasts, resource allocation, and performance analysis, interacting regularly with senior Research leaders and potentially serving on their Leadership Teams. The role is critical in managing a substantial budget of $1.5 billion in Research expenses annually, contributing to transformative work in drug discovery and clinical research.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with key leaders and operations teams to manage financial goals within the BMS Research organization.
• Serve as the first point of contact for actual results, budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation.
• Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and identify drivers of performance.
• Interact regularly with senior Research leaders, including SVPs and their leadership teams.
• Manage financial aspects of diverse units across drug discovery, pre-clinical, and clinical stages.

Requirements

• Experience in financial management and analysis, particularly in a research or pharmaceutical context.
• Strong communication skills to interact with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage large budgets and financial resources effectively.
• Proven track record in strategic financial planning and forecasting.
