About the position

The Associate Director of Sales Operations and Incentive Compensation at Ascendis Pharma is a pivotal role responsible for driving the strategy and execution of Sales Operations. This position oversees various functions including field incentive compensation planning, territory management, promotional activity tracking, and budget management. The role serves as the main point of contact for internal and external partners, reporting results and trends to leadership while participating in broader Sales Operations functions to support the field force.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Sales Operations process and systems to enhance efficiency and productivity
  • Oversee sales incentive compensation plans, including models and analysis of potential incentive compensation, forecasting performance, and territory management design
  • Collaborate with the broader Commercial Operations team to review data, improve existing processes, and support new projects
  • Partner with Global IT to develop dashboards, KPIs, and reports to monitor the performance of commercial initiatives
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including Sales and Marketing, Finance, Customer Service, and Medical to drive programs throughout the organization

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree or MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of work in the life science industry within sales operations
  • At least 3 years of direct Sales Operations experience in incentive compensation processing and design
  • Experience leading/managing vendors in the life science industry
  • Experience working in a matrix environment with the ability to manage multiple customer needs and projects

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Specialty or Rare Disease
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); Tableau preferred
  • Understanding of the pharmaceutical landscape, including knowledge of commercial infrastructure and regulatory frameworks
