The Associate Director, Scientific Communications - Skincare is a pivotal role within AbbVie, responsible for the strategic and tactical execution of scientific communications and education for the Skincare Research and Development (R&D) and Medical Affairs organization. This position aligns with the Global Scientific Communications Strategy for Skincare, ensuring that all communications are in accordance with asset strategy and corporate goals across various product areas. The Associate Director will lead the planning and development of key scientific resources and tools that pertain to the skincare portfolio, focusing on differentiation strategies and competitive landscape analysis. In this role, the Associate Director will provide advanced scientific and medical resources that are accurate, consistent, and reflective of the latest clinical and scientific data. Collaboration is key, as the Associate Director will work cross-functionally with teams in R&D, Commercial, Compliance, Regulatory, and Legal to implement and deploy these resources effectively. The position requires maintaining expert knowledge in skincare and aesthetics, serving as a scientific, medical, and clinical expert to both internal stakeholders and external customers. The scope of the role extends to supporting both US and International teams, ensuring a global perspective in all communications and educational efforts. Key responsibilities include leading the development of scientific communications content, ensuring all materials are up-to-date and aligned with the Global Scientific Communications Strategy. The Associate Director will also plan and develop scientific communication tools, critically reviewing clinical and scientific resources, and exploring innovative modalities to enhance communication effectiveness. Additionally, the role involves identifying educational gaps, designing impactful internal training, supporting global publication plans, and organizing advisory boards to gather insights for scientific advancements. The Associate Director will maintain ongoing communication with peers in Medical Affairs to ensure alignment with departmental strategies.
