About the position

The Associate Director of Software Engineering at S&P Global Ratings is responsible for leading the analysis, design, development, and support of enterprise data management systems. This role involves influencing the strategy and aligning the roadmap of enterprise data applications while driving the execution of initiatives with a product mindset. The position requires collaboration with engineering teams and stakeholders to achieve business and technology goals, ensuring adherence to industry best practices in data architecture and implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, develop, and support enterprise data management systems.
  • Influence the strategy and align the roadmap of enterprise data applications.
  • Drive the execution of initiatives with a product mindset.
  • Partner with engineering teams and product owners to achieve business and technology goals.
  • Provide inputs to technical leadership for data architecture and design.
  • Develop and document data standards and provide technical oversight on implementation.

Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of Information Technology experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in data/application architecture and designs.
  • Proven software/enterprise integration design patterns and full-stack knowledge.
  • Deep experience with Java/J2EE, Spring/Spring Boot, and large-scale data analytics tools.
  • Experience with Continuous integration, dev-ops, and deployment tools like Azure DevOps ADO.
  • Experience in Microservices, API design and implementation, SOAP and RESTful APIs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Data Management, Data Security, Data Quality, Data Governance.
  • Expert knowledge of Agile approaches to software development.
  • Hands-on experience in developing scalable data pipelines using ETL and ELT concepts.
  • Financial services industry experience is a plus.
  • Ability to motivate and mentor other engineering teams.
