About the position

The Associate Director - Solution & Data Architect for External Manufacturing at Lilly plays a pivotal role in designing and implementing integrated IT and data solutions to optimize processes with external manufacturing partners. This position is crucial for ensuring compliance, enhancing operational efficiency, and facilitating real-time decision-making through robust data infrastructure. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams and external vendors to ensure seamless data flow and system functionality while adhering to pharmaceutical industry regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement end-to-end technical solutions for the External Manufacturing organization.
  • Lead the integration of IT systems and data flows between Lilly's internal platforms and external manufacturing partners.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive data architecture ensuring data accuracy, security, and availability.
  • Implement data governance practices to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Facilitate efficient and scalable data exchange using industry standards and data integration methodologies.
  • Ensure all solutions adhere to regulatory, compliance, and security standards, including GxP.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external partners to gather requirements and deliver IT and data solutions.
  • Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance system functionality and operational efficiency.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship on IT system design and data architecture best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related technical field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in IT solution architecture and data architecture roles within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience designing and implementing IT and data architectures in a highly regulated environment.
  • Proven experience with system integration tools and technologies.
  • Expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and big data technologies.
  • Proficiency in database management systems and data integration tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Experience as an autonomous IT leader with large scale portfolios.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence IT and business strategies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in cloud technologies: AWS and/or Azure.
  • Experience with multiple database technologies and solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze large, complex data domains.
  • Strong knowledge of GxP, FDA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Previous Agile experience and familiarity with Agile Development, CI/CD, Jenkins, Github.
