About the position

The Associate Director (Student Conduct Leader) at Indiana University is responsible for the operational management and oversight of the Office of Student Conduct. This role involves supervising a team of student conduct staff, managing investigations related to student misconduct, and ensuring compliance with university policies. The Associate Director collaborates with various campus partners to promote a safe and inclusive environment for students, while also developing educational programs and training initiatives related to student conduct and conflict resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Provides operational management and oversight to a team of student conduct staff.
  • Identifies operational issues and implements solutions to improve processes and operational efficiency.
  • Analyzes, monitors, and evaluates performance of assigned staff; establishes work priorities and conducts performance reviews.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, supervision, and oversight of 3 Assistant Directors.
  • Oversees case management of investigations and cases reported to the university.
  • Develops and maintains educational and training programs for faculty and staff.
  • Ensures the administration of applicable campus policies and procedures.
  • Serves as a Sexual Misconduct/Title IX Hearing Officer for complex cases.
  • Identifies cases requiring threat assessment and escalates cases to the Threat Assessment Team.
  • Manages effective and efficient use of program resources, including budget projections.
  • Works collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff to assess current issues regarding conflict resolution.
  • Promotes continuous improvement and innovation in conduct areas through assessment.
  • Manages current software to keep accurate records and statistical information on clients and programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, public affairs, counseling, social work, law, or related field.
  • 4 or more years in student conduct, higher education student affairs, or related field.
  • 1 year of management experience in relevant field.
  • Proficient communication skills and maintains a high degree of professionalism.
  • Demonstrates time management and priority setting skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in higher education student affairs or related field.
  • 2 years in student conduct, higher education student affairs, or related field.
  • 5 years of professional-level experience directly related to this position.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in case management and conducting investigations.
  • Knowledge of applicable Civil Rights laws and regulations.
