About the position

As a Technical Project Manager at GSK, you will play a pivotal role in initiating, developing, and managing the Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) product and process development project plan for prioritized GSK vaccines in development. Your primary objective will be to drive the integration of technical and business goals to ensure the successful delivery of development projects, from the receipt of research targets through to commercial validation. This will be accomplished while adhering to financial, technical, quality, and compliance targets. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, monitoring, and updating integrated technical project plans that encompass CMC activities and drivers. This will involve accurately forecasting schedules, key milestones, and resource demands. You will lead the development of project operating budgets, collaborating closely with Technical R&D functions, the Technical Development Lead (TDL), and other teams to ensure alignment and effective resource allocation. As a fully embedded member of the Technical Development Team (TDT), you will influence the direction of project development by utilizing data, scenario planning, and critical path analysis to support decision-making processes. You will work in partnership with the TDL and TDT to define, monitor, and mitigate project risks, ensuring that key project milestones are consistently met. Proactively identifying issues such as resource gaps and opportunities within the project plan will be essential to your success. You will also be responsible for integrating CMC plans into the cross-functional Vaccine Development Team (VDT) plans, ensuring coordinated execution and delivery of the overall project. A key aspect of your role will be to define and implement a project communication plan that guarantees timely and accurate information flow within the team and to key stakeholders, including a proactive escalation process for any issues that arise. Your leadership will extend to the timely and accurate reporting of project progress and risks, ensuring that management and KPI tracking are based on accurate plan data. You will monitor project data against governance escalation thresholds and ensure that the TDT acts on any breaches. Providing clear plan visuals, including roadmaps and resource forecasts, will support TDT decision-making and governance. Additionally, you will manage the financial aspects of the project, including purchase orders, monthly accruals, invoice approvals, and cross charges, while providing relevant context to financial partners regarding any key changes to resource forecasts. Operational support will also be a part of your responsibilities, including meeting management and action logs, ensuring effective knowledge management in partnership with the TDL. Your role will require you to provide clear project management leadership and drive accountability among project team members, collaborating with Technical R&D continuous improvement and business operations leads to promote harmonization and operational excellence in project management across the organization.
