About the position

The Associate Director, Treasury Management Officer (TMO) role at Scotiabank involves managing a portfolio with annual revenues exceeding $2 billion, providing dedicated Global Transaction Banking (GTB) coverage across various products. The TMO will work closely with Corporate & Investment Bankers to enhance client relationships, deliver integrated transaction banking solutions, and drive revenue growth through new business development and existing client expansion. This position requires expertise in global liquidity management, payables and receivables optimization, and digital transformation, while also focusing on coaching junior talent and collaborating with internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Grow relationship revenue by prospecting and sourcing new transaction banking business.
  • Manage relationships with CFOs, Treasurers, VPs of Finance, and Controllers to provide integrated transaction banking solutions.
  • Deliver thought leadership at client roundtables, industry conferences, webinars, and client events.
  • Coordinate with solutions specialists to ensure a seamless end-to-end client experience.
  • Partner with internal product stakeholders to represent client perspectives in product development.
  • Collaborate with key partners including Group Treasury, Global Risk Management, and Corporate & Investment Banking.
  • Coach and develop junior talent.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of transaction banking experience including global cash management and liquidity management.
  • Knowledge of transaction banking products, credit and risk processes, and pricing philosophy.
  • Excellent communication skills with a proven track record in building client relationships.
  • Proven negotiation and active listening skills.
  • Critical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Experience in managing operational and enterprise risk.
  • Demonstrated experience of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Bachelor's degree, MBA or equivalent; Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation is an asset.
  • International banking experience.
