About The Position

Primarily responsible for various aspects of US indirect taxes life cycle, including compliance, reporting, and controversy. This position requires an understanding of sales/use, property, business license, and other similar US non-income tax reporting requirements, while also collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to address tax filing obligations. The role will provide an opportunity to work directly with non-tax teams in our organization to achieve optimal tax results and manage transactional tax costs that can influence business decisions and strategy. Receives project assignments and guidance on objectives from the Director in Tax Operations.

Requirements

  • BA/BS Accounting, Finance or related.
  • Master's degree in accounting or tax or CPA designation is preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience working in the US indirect tax space and/or a public accounting firm with technical expertise in managing property, sale/use, or other similar indirect transaction taxes.
  • Experience in the property tax function and processes is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex matters with simplicity and clarity to non-experts across various business units.
  • Demonstrated hands-on approach and success in working in a team-based environment.
  • Experience working with SAP (or similar ERP platforms) and AnyBill is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage real and tangible personal property tax reporting for all business units in coordination with 3rd party tax provider.
  • Coordinate fixed asset and other relevant data requests for accurate reporting.
  • Support jurisdictional property tax audits, including direct coordination with our 3rd party tax provider, gathering necessary information requests, and acting as a liaison with local finance teams and tax.
  • Collaborate with local finance teams to appropriately maintain property tax accruals and payments on company general ledgers.
  • Support local finance teams with forecasting property tax liabilities.
  • Support and collaborate with the sales/use/miscellaneous tax compliance reporting managed by our 3rd party tax provider.
  • Manage jurisdictional tax audits, including direct coordination with state auditors, gathering necessary information requests, and engaging in tax technical discussions to mitigate assessments.
  • Address taxability questions from business units.
  • Coordinate with business units on tax reserve requirements, as applicable.
  • Calculate and pay the US Federal vaccines excise tax liability on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Report payments on form 720 quarterly.
  • Initiate payment of the stock buyback excise tax and report on forms 7208 and 720 on an annual basis.
  • Calculate quarterly estimate for private foundation, communicate necessary payments to treasury team.
  • Complete 990PF for our Company's two private foundations, file extensions and e-file federal returns.
