About the position

MyHealthTeam is seeking a talented associate editor to become a key player in our expanding Editorial Team. This is an exceptional opportunity to immerse yourself in a variety of editorial functions and contribute to meaningful content that addresses over 50 chronic conditions. In this role, you'll hone your editing and project management skills while providing critical editorial and operational support across the department. Your expertise will ensure the quality and consistency of our digital content, helping us empower and connect individuals living with chronic conditions. Responsibilities

  • Provide editorial support, including developmental edits, content updates, project management, and more as needed
  • Ensure content upholds guidelines and standards for voice, tone, and sourcing
  • Perform background research as needed to understand and edit language around complex medical concepts
  • Clarify, organize, and rewrite manuscripts as needed
  • Provide notes to improve the quality of first drafts
  • Write articles, as needed
  • Support the onboarding and management of freelance writers

Requirements

  • Three to five years of relevant experience
  • Ability to edit articles according to style guidelines
  • Strong writing skills
  • Experience with consumer health content, medical digital content, or pharma content
  • Ability to fact check and research medical and/or scientific data
  • Project management skills, working with tools like Asana, Airtable, or others
  • Familiarity with G Suite, CMS systems, and project management tools
  • Team player who puts the success of the organization first
  • Desire to fulfill the mission of improving health outcomes for people with chronic conditions
  • A bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, biology, life sciences, or a related field (or equivalent relevant work experience)

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience working with pharmaceutical companies
  • Experience with or working knowledge of SEO
  • Coursework in statistics
  • Completion of bioscience classes, such as pathophysiology, immunology, genetics, or cancer biology
  • Fluency in spoken and written Spanish (native speaker a plus)
