About the position

The Associate Electrical Engineer position at Thornton Tomasetti involves engaging in electrical forensic investigations, providing litigation support, and consulting on risk loss, repair, and retrofit design. Responsibilities

  • Manage projects independently and oversee junior engineers.
  • Interact directly with clients including attorneys, property owners, contractors, and insurance professionals.
  • Conduct field investigations and property assessments.
  • Analyze the extent and scope of damage and determine the cause of damage.
  • Perform National Electric Code and various Building Code analyses.
  • Evaluate construction defects and professional standards of care.
  • Serve as an expert witness in depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License in at least one jurisdiction, with the ability to obtain licensure in others.
  • Strong report writing skills to clearly express engineering opinions and conclusions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines and meet deadlines.
  • 8 to 12 years of experience in the Electrical Engineering field.
  • Willingness to travel for short durations for certain assignments.
