About The Position

As an Associate Electrical Engineer at BPMI, you will work under oversight to perform routine technical functions with an emphasis in project management to support company operations. Your responsibilities will include preparation of system performance and test specifications, verification and approval of supplier designs, engineering follow through manufacturing, test, and installation, resolution of fielded equipment problems, and extensive communications with customer and supplier personnel. The role spans from system concept through the end of system life, ensuring that all aspects of the project are managed effectively. You will analyze project requirements, identify and complete performance measures, including root cause and post-job assessments to meet project and schedule requirements. Regular communication of project status to management and the design team will be essential. Additionally, you will assist in resolving technical, logistical, and funding issues within your area of cognizance. Your duties will also involve preparing specifications for the design, testing, and qualification of new equipment or upgrades of fielded equipment. You will provide technical support and oversight for field operations, collaborating with other engineers to ensure integration of activities and plans. Performing analytical evaluations, which may include the development and application of computer models, will be part of your responsibilities. You will prepare revisions to technical manuals, reports, or procedures in accordance with NR program quality standards, and assist with technical negotiations with suppliers. This includes conducting production reviews and quality surveillance, reviewing and approving supplier designs and supporting technical reports on assigned components and equipment, and developing methods to improve supplier performance. Furthermore, you will perform design for affordability reviews, prepare cost estimates, and analyze supplier designs for material suitability, reliability, and integrity. In this role, you will also prepare letters to the Government providing technical information, recommending approval of technical actions, or obtaining approval of funding. Interpreting drawings, specifications, manufacturing process information, inspection, and test procedures will be necessary to ensure suppliers meet contract requirements.
