About the position

The Associate Electrical Engineer position offers an opportunity to apply and enhance your academic background in Electrical Engineering within the Nuclear Power Group. This role involves collaboration with engineers and designers to improve nuclear plant electrical systems, focusing on design, calculations, and specifications. The position also includes mentorship and training, as well as opportunities for field verification and construction coordination.

Responsibilities

• Electrical systems design
• Preparation of complex calculations
• Load flow and short circuit analysis
• Power flow analysis
• System impact assessments
• Cable ampacity calculations
• Preparation of documented design inputs
• Preparation of equipment and material specifications
• Preparation of design reports
• Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews
• Field verification of designs at plant site locations

Requirements

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
• 1 or more years of experience in performing power analysis, preferably in the power industry
• Understanding of practical application of electrical engineering and technology
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for technical plans and drawings
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills

Nice-to-haves

• Experience performing transient analysis of power systems using software such as ETAP or SKM
