About the position

As an Associate Analytics Engineer at Delta Defense, you will be part of a dynamic cross-functional team that is dedicated to transforming raw and operational data from various sources into business-oriented technology solutions. Your role will be crucial in enabling the accurate reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, and insights that drive the organization forward. We are looking for candidates who are not only technically skilled but also possess a relentless resourcefulness and the ability to manage complex tasks swiftly while maintaining the highest quality standards. In this position, you will work under the guidance of senior team members to build data pipelines that integrate complex and disparate data sources. This will involve creating clean, tested, and reusable datasets that are ready for analysis. You will be responsible for ensuring data quality by creating and maintaining tests and monitors, adhering to established standards, and following the rules and requirements for data formats and attributes during transformations. Additionally, you will learn and apply engineering best practices around Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), unit testing, performance testing, and optimization. Following the guidance of the Data Architecture team will be essential to ensure the quality and consistency of the data model, and you will also be expected to create clear and effective documentation for your work. This role offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing you to work three days a week in the office at our headquarters location. Responsibilities

  • Build data pipelines that integrate complex and disparate data sources.
  • Create clean, tested, and reusable datasets ready for analysis.
  • Ensure data quality by creating and maintaining tests and monitors.
  • Adhere to established standards for data formats and attributes during transformations.
  • Learn and apply engineering best practices around CI/CD, unit testing, performance testing, and optimization.
  • Follow guidance from the Data Architecture team to ensure data model quality and consistency.
  • Create clear and effective documentation for data processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Data Science/Analytics, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • SQL experience preferred.
  • DBT experience preferred.
  • Understanding of ETL/ELT methodologies.
  • Experience with Python and shell scripting is a plus.
  • Understanding of Agile development methods.
  • Understanding of Tableau.
  • Experience with AWS cloud technologies such as S3 and EMR.
  • Demonstrates the Core Values of Delta Defense, LLC.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing services, particularly AWS.
  • Knowledge of data governance and data management best practices.
