The Associate Structural/Foundation Engineer will work under the supervision of a Senior Structural/Foundation Engineer, focusing on structural and foundation engineering within the solar industry. This role is ideal for engineers who are on the path to becoming licensed Professional Engineers. The position involves applying national building codes, standards, and engineering principles to analyze and design foundations specifically for solar power plant applications. The engineer will evaluate various factors affecting foundation integrity, including electrochemical test data for corrosion analysis, frost heave impacts, and the effects of expansive and collapsible soils. In addition to these evaluations, the engineer will calculate the design life of foundations using corrosion standards and perform desktop studies to identify additional risks not typically covered in geotechnical reports. Responsibilities also include preparing structural analysis and design calculations for pile foundations, considering various external forces and constraints. The engineer will analyze site terrain and topography to adapt structural parameters and develop grading requirements using Civil 3D software. Furthermore, the role involves preparing pile plot plans and coordinating with construction teams during pile installation, as well as reviewing documents from third-party vendors to derive necessary loads for pile design. This position is based on-site at one of the company’s offices located in Indianapolis, IN, Phoenix, AZ, Clinton, IN, or Fargo, ND, and requires a commitment to safety and teamwork, reflecting the company’s values of integrity, innovation, and performance.
