About the position

The R&D Engineer II position at Medical Murray involves leading the design and development of innovative disposable medical devices. This role is crucial in driving product development from concept to production, utilizing expertise in engineering to create impactful solutions in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop disposable medical devices using SolidWorks and other CAD tools.
  • Prototype catheters and catheter-based delivery systems in a hands-on laboratory environment.
  • Lead product development efforts, ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget, and meet customer objectives.
  • Prepare and support product development plans, including schedules, resources, and budgets.
  • Develop and validate in-vitro and in-vivo testing methods for medical devices.
  • Collaborate with vendors to source materials, components, and processes.
  • Provide engineering support for manufacturing, including validation plans and troubleshooting.
  • Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including FMEA, test results, and drawings.
  • Act as a technical leader, advising and mentoring team members as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2-5 years in medical device engineering, with hands-on disposable device development experience.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and technical documentation.
  • Project management experience is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams to project success.
