The Engineer I position at Abbott focuses on supporting product development within the Structural Heart division, specifically for the transcatheter aortic valve team. Responsibilities

  • Support product development within the transcatheter aortic valve team.
  • Investigate and resolve production problems involving equipment and systems.
  • Design and develop innovative medical devices or components/subsystems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute tests.
  • Perform root cause analysis and participate in investigations.
  • Make presentations to internal/external customers, vendors, and senior management.
  • Communicate moderately complex technical issues and solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comply with FDA regulations and company policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Engineering degree.
  • 0-2 years related experience.
  • Ability to deliver quality engineering information for management's decision-making.
  • Experience in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel, including internationally.
