About the position

The Associate Software Engineer will work as part of a team to complete basic end-to-end software engineering tasks, including analysis, development, testing, debugging, and documentation. This hybrid role requires the engineer to work full-time in the office for the first three months, after which a flexible work arrangement may be available. The position involves tackling well-scoped problems independently while adhering to team guidelines and seeking opportunities for technical growth.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic analysis, development, testing, debugging, and configuration of software.
  • Investigate incidents and document findings related to user or system design specifications.
  • Monitor system health and implement improvements based on findings.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and external parties regarding policies and practices.
  • Make minor changes or enhancements in systems and processes to improve effectiveness.
  • Work under direct supervision on projects and assignments, setting objectives to meet project goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 0 to 3 years of relevant experience in software engineering.
  • Understanding of basic programming and OOP concepts, particularly in .NET.
  • Familiarity with code version control systems such as Git.
  • Experience using data structures and traditional data stores.
  • Knowledge of REST API syntax and tools like Swagger and Postman for documentation and testing.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with troubleshooting engineering problems using logs and developer tools.
  • Ability to design and implement solutions of light to moderate complexity using existing knowledge of algorithms and structures.
