About the position

The Associate Engineering Manager (ESG Data) at Verdani Partners is a full-time role focused on managing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data and projects for global commercial real estate clients. This position requires strong project management and communication skills, as the individual will work closely with the corporate sustainability team to develop and implement ESG strategies. The role involves overseeing large-scale environmental data management, ensuring quality control for ESG reporting, and producing high-quality reports for clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic guidance and project management on the collection, analysis, and reporting of environmental data for various clients.
  • Provide quality control and oversight for various ESG data reporting needs.
  • Serve as a liaison to client teams, vendors, and project management teams.
  • Analyze and develop improvement opportunities for various ESG reporting frameworks (GRESB, CDP, etc.).
  • Assist clients in developing net zero targets and strategies.
  • Support with green building certifications (LEED, Fitwel, IREM, etc.).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related fields.
  • Excellent track record in project managing large ESG datasets and/or sustainability programs at a portfolio level.
  • Experience using ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to lead meetings and give presentations to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively manage a team and delegate tasks.
  • Knowledge of building systems and energy data analysis.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with intent to dive deep into data.
  • Experience using databases to hold and manipulate large datasets.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related fields.
  • LEED Green Associate or LEED Accredited Professional - EBOM.
  • Certified Energy Manager.
  • Experience working on various sustainability reporting initiatives such as GRESB, CDP, UNPRI, TCFD, INREV, SFDR.
  • Experience analyzing utility data and using different analytic tools/databases (ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, Measurabl, etc.).
  • Knowledge of green building certifications such as LEED, Fitwel, WELL, IREM, BREEAM.
  • Experience with net zero initiatives and different frameworks (SBTI's, CRREEM, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of asset management and commercial real estate.
