About the position

The Associate Epidemiologic Research Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the Department of Global Pediatric Medicine at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. This position focuses on analyzing research data, developing and maintaining databases, and applying statistical techniques to inform decision-making and improve health systems related to childhood cancer care globally. The analyst will collaborate with various stakeholders, including clinicians and international partners, to enhance research methodologies and contribute to the mission of the St. Jude Global initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and support analyses of research studies focused on improving outcomes in low- and middle-income countries.
  • Meet with clinicians, scientists, and other personnel to design and implement research methodologies and analytics plans.
  • Work with global collaborators to identify information gaps and develop data generation activities.
  • Establish and maintain tools to document research progress, including dashboards.
  • Support collaborators in monitoring and evaluation plans to meet research goals.
  • Assist in grant proposals and dissemination of results.
  • Communicate objectives and research findings to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present organized data sets, summaries, and reports to team members and global sites.
  • Analyze studies related to WHO activities, particularly the Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in biostatistics, statistics, epidemiology, or a related field required.
  • 2+ years of related experience required, or a Master's degree with no years of experience.
  • Knowledge of health systems and related analysis methods.
  • Proficiency in programming software such as R and Python, and geospatial software like ArcGIS.
  • Experience with database software such as Access and Oracle.
  • Strong writing skills for effective communication of results.
  • Ability to interpret statistical data and evaluate research studies.
