About the position

The Associate Equity Research Analyst is responsible for conducting in-depth research and providing insights to support investment recommendations. This role involves working closely with Senior Analysts, covering specific sectors and companies, and participating in the firm's investment committee. The position offers significant growth opportunities within the firm and supports various research needs of Bartlett's investment platform.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for specific sector and company coverage for U.S. Large Cap equity strategies.
  • Assist and support Senior Equity Research Analysts in their research process.
  • Provide investment recommendations to the Investment Committee.
  • Actively participate in weekly Investment Committee meetings.
  • Oversee performance reporting, risk monitoring, and other equity research department needs.
  • Communicate and work with Wealth Advisors.
  • Utilize Morningstar Direct program to support outside manager research for the Bartlett Fund Advantage investment team.
  • Regularly distribute Bartlett's investment platform characteristics and performance details within the firm.
  • Support the firm's Strategic Asset Allocation Committee by gathering pertinent market data periodically.
  • Work with the Alternative Investment team as new funds are being researched for inclusion in models.
  • Represent the firm's investment activities in public forums including presentations and media outlets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Finance, Economics, Accounting, or other business degree preferred).
  • Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of capital markets, investment strategies, and the investment management business.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Commitment to obtain CFA Charter.
  • Strong PowerPoint skills and proficiency in technology solutions, including Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, etc.
  • Previous equity research experience or related college coursework.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in Morningstar Direct, FactSet, or Bloomberg.
