Beckman Coulter Life Sciences is seeking a Service Technician to join our team, dedicated to empowering those seeking answers to life's most important scientific and healthcare questions. This entry-level position is designed for individuals looking to build a long-term career in a Life Sciences Service Organization. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for developing the knowledge and skills necessary to support the maintenance, installation, and repair of Beckman Coulter products at customer sites. You will work under close supervision and mentoring from a manager, regional specialist, and senior engineers within your territory, which includes Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of applicable products, customer support, and the technical skills vital for performing high-quality preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of instruments. You will assist with preventative maintenance and installation, and as your abilities improve, you will work more independently. Additionally, you will be responsible for completing administrative duties such as logging service activities, expense reporting, and inventory management. This position is remote-based, allowing for flexibility in your work environment while still being part of a dedicated team. The essential requirements for this position include a High School Diploma, with an Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, biological science, or engineering preferred. This role is suitable for early or emerging career professionals, as no prior experience is required. You must hold and maintain a valid Driver's License and meet Vendor Credentialing requirements. The ability and willingness to lift up to 50 lbs, along with the physical capability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, and bend at the waist, are also necessary. This position may require domestic and international travel by vehicle or airplane, with up to 50% overnight travel, depending on geographic region and customer needs.
