About the position

The Associate Field Service Engineer for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics plays a crucial role in maintaining diagnostic tools that directly impact patient health and well-being. This position is part of the Service Organization located in Des Moines, IA, and is fully remote, allowing for flexibility in work arrangements. Beckman Coulter Diagnostics has a vision of relentlessly reimagining healthcare, one diagnosis at a time, and this role is integral to achieving that vision. In this position, you will be part of the Field Service Team, reporting to the territory manager. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the optimal performance of Beckman Coulter equipment, which includes servicing hematology, microbiology, and automation instrumentation. The role requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting, installation, validation, preventative maintenance, modifications, and service repair needs on Beckman Coulter equipment. You will also provide excellent and efficient service to customers, along with technical training on products. You will maintain accurate customer service logs and internal service records, order repair parts, and adhere to cycle times. Utilizing business systems such as OBI, Sales Force, and SharePoint for Service Call Planning will be essential in advancing team goals. Engaging with both internal and external stakeholders to understand and meet their unique needs is also a key aspect of this role. Responsibilities

  • Complete troubleshooting, installation, validation, preventative maintenance, modifications, and service repair needs on Beckman Coulter equipment.
  • Provide excellent and efficient service to Beckman Coulter's customers, along with technical training on products.
  • Maintain accurate customer service logs and internal service records.
  • Order repair parts and adhere to cycle times.
  • Utilize business systems such as OBI, Sales Force, and SharePoint for Service Call Planning and advancing team goals.
  • Engage with both internal and external stakeholders, understanding and meeting their unique needs.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent military experience.
  • 0-1 year experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, robotics, electronic equipment, and/or instrumentation.
  • Hold a current valid driver's license and good driving record over the last three years.
  • Ability to travel within an assigned geography and periodic travel to other areas/overnight.
  • Ability to lift, lower and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, turn, crouch/crawl, push/pull, and sit/stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to reach at, above and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck, and have good hand and finger dexterity.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2+ years' experience of troubleshooting, installation, validation, preventative maintenance, modifications and/or service repair.
  • Experience developing positive business relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, resulting in increased customer satisfaction and supporting long-term retention.
  • A technical college major such as biomed, engineering, or related.
