The Associate Field Service Engineer is responsible for developing the knowledge and skills to support the maintenance, installation and repair of Sciex products at both internal and external customer sites. This position works under close supervision and mentoring by a manager, regional specialist and senior field service engineers within the territory. Tasks are performed independently as capabilities are developed. This position reports to the District Service Manager and is part of the Field Technical Service organization working remotely to cover Greater Saint Louis area, Columbia, MO, and southern Illinois.

Responsibilities

  • Develop deep knowledge of applicable products, customer support, and technical skills vital to perform high-quality preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of instruments
  • Performs preventative maintenance, installation, and repairs independently
  • Completes administration duties (logging service activities, expense reporting, inventory, etc.)

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (A.S./A.A.S) or Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering or equivalent experience (i.e. Military Certificates in electronics or avionics)
  • Experience using and/or troubleshooting mass spectrometry, capillary electrophoresis or scientific instruments
  • Meet Vendor Credentialing requirements

  • Ability to work with electrical and electrical mechanical technology and follow all required safety protocols
