About the position
Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is dedicated to advancing and optimizing the laboratory to move science and healthcare forward. The Associate Field Service Engineer is responsible for maintaining diagnostic tools that directly influence patient health and well-being. This position is fully remote, servicing customers in Fitchburg, Marlborough, Worcester, Massachusetts, and surrounding areas. The role involves ensuring optimal performance of Beckman Coulter equipment, specifically Chemistry and Urinalysis instruments, and is part of the Field Service Team reporting to the District Service Manager.
Responsibilities
- Complete troubleshooting, installation, validation, preventative maintenance, modifications, and service repair needs on Beckman Coulter equipment.
- Provide excellent and efficient service to Beckman Coulter's customers, along with technical training on products.
- Maintain accurate customer service logs and internal service records, order repair parts, and adhere to cycle times.
- Utilize business systems such as OBI, Sales Force, and SharePoint for Service Call Planning and advancing team goals.
- Engage with both internal and external stakeholders, understanding and meeting their unique needs.
Requirements
- Associate degree (preferred) or equivalent military experience.
- 0-1 year experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, robotics, electronic equipment, and/or instrumentation.
- Hold a current valid driver's license and good driving record over the last three years.
- Ability to travel within an assigned geography and for periodic travel to other areas/overnight.
- Ability to lift, lower and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, twisting, and standing for extended periods.
Nice-to-haves
- 2+ years' experience of troubleshooting, installation, validation, preventative maintenance, modifications and/or service repair.
- Experience developing positive business relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- A technical college major such as biomed, engineering, or related.
