About the position

In this full-time position, located at the Madison, PA (Waltz Mill) facility, the Associate Field Service Engineer will engage in various daily tasks. These tasks include the installation, modification, or maintenance of equipment, where the engineer will interpret specifications and drawings to ensure the proper use of field service tools. The role also involves performing analysis and reviewing operational problems of equipment or systems, identifying issues using test or inspection equipment, and developing good internal and external customer relations to support contracted work scope execution. Additionally, the engineer will prepare test procedures to evaluate equipment performance following modifications or repairs, observe operational tests as required, and manage work according to established schedules, budgets, contracts, and scope requirements. The position also emphasizes the importance of technical training, as the engineer will be expected to increase their knowledge of inspection, quality control, and test techniques to effectively facilitate the installation, startup, and maintenance of nuclear systems and related equipment. Finally, the engineer will prepare input for technical manuals, procedures, and reports with guidance, ensuring that all documentation meets the necessary standards.

Responsibilities

  • Installation, modification or maintenance of equipment, systems, and fuel.
  • Perform analysis and review of operational problems of equipment or systems and identify problems using test or inspection equipment, with guidance.
  • Develop and maintain good internal/external customer relations in support of contracted work scope execution.
  • Prepare test procedures to evaluate equipment performance following modification and/or repair, with guidance.
  • Observe operational tests as required.
  • Perform work according to schedule, budget, contract and scope requirements.
  • Increase knowledge of inspection, quality control and test techniques to effectively facilitate installation, start-up and maintenance of nuclear systems, nuclear fuel and related equipment.
  • Prepare input for technical manuals, procedures and reports, with guidance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mechanical, or Electrical.
  • 0-3 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of basic engineering principles, concepts and practices.
  • Ability to obtain & maintain unescorted access to nuclear facility.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%. Ability to travel extensively during the spring and fall for potentially weeks at a time.
  • Related experience with demonstrated evidence of mechanical, networking and/or electronic aptitude.
