The Associate, Financial Accounting position at Goldman Sachs & Co. The role requires collaboration with various teams to prepare financial projections, ensure compliance with operational risk mitigation, and support audit requests, while also identifying process improvement opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Calculate, record, and report the accounting of equity awards amortization, employer payroll taxes, and mark-to-market accruals.
  • Prepare deferred compensation estimates and projections for Business Planning Committee meetings and Federal Reserve Bank stress tests.
  • Perform reconciliations and maintain documentation in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley legislation.
  • Coordinate with regional payroll teams to determine employer tax rates for accurate payroll tax expense calculations.
  • Document system functionality and create standard operational procedures.
  • Execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system enhancements due to regulatory changes.
  • Liaise with different divisions to analyze and provide support on Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet variances.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Two years of experience in financial accounting or a related role.
  • Experience with accounting processes and analyzing financial data under time-sensitive conditions.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience liaising cross-functionally with strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint, including advanced Excel functions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Anaplan for financial projections.
  • Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
