About the position

The Associate Financial Analyst position at Health First involves engaging in financial analysis and planning to support the organization's budgeting and variance analysis processes. The role focuses on providing quality customer experience and stewardship by preparing detailed financial analyses, assisting in budget preparation, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of annual budget and forecast for the Operating Entities of Health First.
• Perform preliminary variance analysis compared to budget on a monthly basis.
• Apply fundamental concepts necessary to analyze operational performance of the departments.
• Draw up preliminary profitability analysis of the service lines and identify variances for Financial Analyst.
• Provide preliminary financial analysis to Financial Analyst as assigned to support management.
• Gather preliminary data to be used in training of management.
• Resolve requests for information within two working days with minimal exceptions.
• Complete special projects with minimal errors in methodology or execution.
• Identify cost savings opportunities for the Entities.
• Monitor productivity of statistical departments on a daily and biweekly basis.

Requirements

• BS degree in accounting, finance, or related field from an accredited college or university.
• Prior experience and knowledge in the use of software packages such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and Windows.
• Up to two years of healthcare experience in financial analysis preferred.
• Knowledge of clinical/financial information system use.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and organize tasks effectively.
• Current knowledge of financial regulations and standards.
