About the position

Dominion Energy is seeking an Associate Financial Analyst, Financial Analyst, or Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. This position is integral to the development of the company's annual financing plan and will lead selected capital markets transactions. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating ad hoc and ongoing financial forecasts and models to identify financing opportunities that align with the company's goals. This role requires the ability to effectively communicate complex financial models and analyses to all levels of leadership, ensuring clarity and understanding. Flexibility and the capacity to manage multiple tasks, including re-prioritizing competing priorities, are essential for success in this position. The analyst will work closely with Dominion Energy's core investment bank relationship contacts and will be involved in various responsibilities, including developing presentations for executive leadership, maintaining historical records and trackers, supporting the long-term planning process, assisting with current year interest expense forecasting, and providing occasional support in commercial paper activities. The role demands frequent communication with business units and CFO Group leadership teams, ensuring that all financial activities are aligned with the company's strategic objectives. Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing the company's annual financing plan.
  • Lead selected capital markets transactions while partnering with external parties.
  • Develop ad hoc models and financial analyses.
  • Develop presentations to communicate complex topics effectively to various internal parties, including executives.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with investment banks.
  • Accurately record the outcomes of financing efforts and provide feedback to involved parties.
  • Support the periodic budget and forecast processes.
  • Communicate frequently with business units and CFO Group leadership teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate Financial Analyst: A minimum of 0-3+ years of financial or related experience is required.
  • Financial Analyst: A minimum of 3+ years of financial or related experience is required.
  • Senior Financial Analyst: A minimum of 5+ years of financial or related experience is required.
  • Experience in financial analysis typically acquired through budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, investment banking, accounting, or similarly finance-oriented roles.
  • Understanding of accounting basics including familiarity with the income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows.
  • Capital markets experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience developing financial models, forecasts, and scenario analyses preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience with Bloomberg preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a relevant field (counts as one year of experience).
