The Associate, Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting role is a unique opportunity that blends interesting content from two of the RWE CE Accounting department's main focus areas - Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting. The successful candidate will spend approximately 50% of their time supporting the creation, review, and audit of financial statements under both IFRS and US GAAP, and approximately 50% advising the business on application guidance of existing accounting rules and supporting technical accounting analysis on new business endeavors. In this role, you will support the preparation, review, and issuance of RWE CE's IFRS group reporting packages to RWE AG, ensuring compliance with annual and quarterly external reporting requirements. You will perform recurring and ad hoc analysis on the RWE CE IFRS RWE AG Group reporting package for internal customers and support the independent external auditor's review. Additionally, you will help ensure technical compliance under IFRS and in line with the RWE Group Accounting Policies, including support of complex group reporting related topics. You will also be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and issuing RWE CE's US GAAP standalone project reporting packages to external investors, performing analysis for both internal and external customers, and supporting independent external audits. Furthermore, you will review various financing, M&A, procurement, commercial, leasing, and other renewable energy-related contracts, advising the business on their financial statement impact and ways to enhance contract benefits. Your role will involve advising the RWE CE Finance community on the application of both IFRS and US GAAP accounting guidance to new and existing transactions, assisting in special projects related to RWE AG topics, and maintaining a high-quality, deliverable-focused culture within the team.
