About the position

The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) at Oklahoma State University is seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. This position is aimed at candidates with teaching and research interests in mechanical or aerospace engineering, particularly in the rapidly evolving fields of artificial intelligence and machine learning. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a robust externally funded research program and demonstrate excellence in teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels. A Ph.D. in a closely related field is required, along with a preferred B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited program. The ideal candidate will have expertise in data science and artificial intelligence, including areas such as algorithm and system design, physics-informed machine learning, data-driven modeling, big data assimilation, and high-performance computing. The research focus should align with mechanical and aerospace engineering applications, including system design, mechanics, thermal systems, fluid dynamics, and sustainability. Candidates with a collaborative spirit and interest in multi-disciplinary research are particularly encouraged to apply. The School of MAE is recognized for its strong educational and research programs, housing 36 faculty members and approximately 1,466 full-time students. Facilities include over 100,000 sq. ft. of laboratory space and access to advanced research centers. Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a strong externally funded research program.
