About the position

Stardock is seeking an enthusiastic Associate Game Developer to join our team in Plymouth, Michigan. As an Associate Game Developer, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining gameplay systems for our cutting-edge games. You will work closely with a talented team of developers, designers, and QA professionals to ensure that our games are not only fun to play but also technically sound. In this role, you will be tasked with building and maintaining gameplay systems using modern C++. You will also write technical documents that describe the implementation of these systems, ensuring that your work is well-documented and easily understandable by other team members. Additionally, you will create data-driven systems that allow for quick gameplay iteration, enabling the team to test and refine game mechanics efficiently. Collaboration is key in this position, as you will work closely with production and QA teams to address any bugs or issues that arise during development. Your ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team will be essential to your success in this role. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or relevant field
  • Solid understanding and proficiency in C++
  • Well-developed school or side project and/or interesting mod work preferred
  • Passion for games and game design
  • Self-motivated and loves solving problems
  • Able to learn new technology quickly and execute on a schedule in a fast-paced cross-discipline team environment
  • Familiar with version control software (e.g. Perforce, SVN, etc.)
