About the position

The Associate Garden Service Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the Enable Vegetable Garden by assisting in the management of garden activities, coordinating volunteers, and maintaining essential documentation. This part-time position requires effective communication with the Garden Services Coordinator and community volunteers to ensure the smooth operation of garden activities, aligning with Enable's mission and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Garden Services Coordinator in coordinating activities and volunteers for the Enable Vegetable Garden.
  • Manage operations for the Enable Vegetable Garden.
  • Record delivery information and notify Services Coordinator of updates.
  • Perform data entry for harvest and gleaning information.
  • Monitor documentation and log volunteer hours.
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports to Garden Services Coordinators.
  • Maintain all garden physical structures and equipment.
  • Communicate with FarmBot maintenance.
  • Coordinate the annual plant event with the Garden Services Coordinator and Executive Director.
  • Report maintenance issues to the Garden Services Coordinator.
  • Order and maintain garden supplies with the Garden Services Coordinator.
  • Manage harvest and packing of all produce.
  • Ensure harvested product reaches intended destination or is preserved if excess production occurs.
  • Coordinate and train garden volunteers on safety and gardening practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Garden Services Coordinator and/or Executive Director.

Requirements

  • GED/High School Diploma/Bachelor's Degree.
  • Community garden experience is a plus.
  • Ability to operate small garden/farm equipment/machinery.
  • Knowledge of gardening/farming practices and procedures.
  • Experience with garden infrastructure, irrigation, and equipment maintenance.
  • Direct management experience with volunteers is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational and time-management skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail, particularly regarding documentation.
  • Ability to interact with diverse groups of people.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
