About the position
The Associate General Counsel III, Governance and Risk at Edward Jones is responsible for managing a variety of legal projects related to corporate governance, securities law, risk management, and general corporate issues. This role involves providing legal advice to business leaders and stakeholders, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting the firm's governance structure. The position requires a strong background in securities law and risk management, as well as the ability to navigate a complex regulatory environment.
Responsibilities
- Handle legal projects related to corporate governance, securities law, and risk management.
- Provide legal advice and guidance on corporate, securities, governance, and risk matters.
- Assist with preparation and filing of required disclosures with the SEC and other regulators.
- Support the Firm's ownership structure and related disclosures.
- Advise on the Firm's governance structure and support entity management.
- Provide legal counsel to the Firm's Internal Audit Department.
- Develop innovative solutions to manage and mitigate risk to the Firm.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) required.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience as a securities and/or corporate governance lawyer.
- Expert knowledge of federal and state securities laws and disclosure practices.
- Experience with corporate governance programs and practices.
- Strong knowledge of general corporate law and governance matters.
- Ability to analyze and resolve complex legal matters.
