About the position

The Associate Graphic Designer at Old Navy plays a crucial role in creating in-house designs for apparel graphics. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional product development teams to produce mechanical art and complex graphic designs that align with the brand's aesthetic and seasonal concepts. The designer will interpret design ideas and ensure that the graphics enhance the product style, making it appealing to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Research global markets to identify new seasonal trends, techniques, and competitive inspiration.
  • Develop concepts and sketches for product lines and advocate for design ideas by presenting to internal leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Develop strong internal cross-functional relationships.
  • Communicate difficult concepts in a simple manner.
  • Participate in projects and assignments of diverse scope.

Requirements

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize work accordingly.
  • Strong creative sense with artistic abilities.
  • Thorough knowledge of graphics production (e.g., silk screen color separation; camera ready art, heat transfers, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, and additional related software.
