Associate Graphic Designer

About the position

i3 is looking for a talented Graphic Designer to develop complex 2D graphics, motion graphics, and more for its Virtual Training, Simulation, and Gaming business. As a Graphic Designer, you will be responsible for a variety of digital products based in Captivate and the Unity game engine. You will work with highly skilled and motivated delivery teams made of Instructional Systems Designers (ISDs), Software Engineers, 3D Artists, and Tech Leads to design, develop, test, build, and deploy customer training software.

Responsibilities

• Support all kinds of design efforts of digital products.
• Validate design efforts with the program Creative Leadership and other Creative Operations team members regularly.
• Ensure accurate implementation of designs into the game engine.
• Work closely with Software Engineers to ensure cohesive designs.
• Workshop efforts with the Creative Director and Creative Operations team weekly.
• Produce high-fidelity 2D graphics.
• Craft motion graphics and ensure solid implementation by software engineers.
• Design for desktop-based and/or tablet-based UIs.
• Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with software engineers and other stakeholders.
• Illustrate design ideas to product stakeholders using mockups as needed.
• Provide feedback to software engineers as designs are implemented.
• Leverage design thinking and questioning techniques to develop strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design or related field.
• Working knowledge and skill in design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, After Effects, and/or other Adobe Creative Suite products.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
• Ability to work with other designers and developers.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with Adobe Captivate authoring tool.
• Previous experience in collaboration with system and software engineers on UI implementation.
• Working knowledge and/or understanding of prototyping tools like Sketch, Figma, Balsamic, etc.
• Experience outside of 2D production that demonstrates a variability of design skills.
• Understanding and appreciation of standard user interface design concepts.
• Understanding of foundational design principles and practices, typography and color, and multi-device usability standards.
