About the position

The Sales Engineer role at Carrier is a pivotal position that bridges the gap between the company and the commercial marketplace, focusing on providing HVAC systems solutions to customers. This position requires a combination of technical knowledge and interpersonal skills, as the Sales Engineer will lead the sales process from initial contact through to equipment and service delivery, supported by an inside sales team. The role emphasizes relationship building, understanding customer needs, and participating in business development activities.

Responsibilities

  • Establish prospects and develop professional relationships to understand customer needs.
  • Aid in business development activities for prospects within defined customer segments.
  • Prospect bid opportunities and participate in the preparation of bid responses and negotiations with potential customers.
  • Develop new customer contact leads for the sales business development team.
  • Identify prospective target accounts and present to the sales business development team.
  • Develop personal customer relationships with prospective accounts to influence opportunities.
  • Participate in trade shows to increase the visibility of the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or expected graduation date before July 2025.
  • 1+ year of experience utilizing Microsoft Suite Products.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Civil, Architectural, Chemical, Systems, or Controls).
  • Prior work experience and/or internship experience in mechanical contracting, engineering, building management, or other HVAC related fields and/or sales experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent technical skills, creativity, self-motivated, tenacious, ambitious, and enthusiastic.
