About the position

The Education Trust (EdTrust) is seeking an Associate II, Communications to support its mission of closing opportunity gaps affecting students of color and those from low-income families. This role involves amplifying the organization's policy positions and advocacy through social media, digital communications, and event coordination. The Associate will work closely with a passionate team dedicated to educational equity, contributing to research and advocacy efforts that aim to transform educational institutions for all students.

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan and share content across social media platforms to promote EdTrust's messages.
• Engage and grow social media audience by creating and curating content that drives conversation.
• Monitor and analyze media and engagement metrics to measure the impact of our work.
• Create and maintain the social media calendar, and prepare and design social media posts.
• Coordinate and execute events that elevate EdTrust's policy positions and advocacy messages.
• Maintain press lists to maximize the reach of EdTrust's messages.
• Support the planning and execution of public-facing content such as statements, emails, reports, and newsletters.
• Assist with day-to-day communications support, including website maintenance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in communications or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience creating engaging content for social media platforms.
• At least 2 years of experience with social media tools such as Hootsuite or Sprout Social.
• Experience with content management systems such as WordPress and CRM platforms such as EveryAction is preferred.
• Fluency with Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
